Skoda Karoq review (2023)

In their own words

Good Points - Car is nice to drive with the higher driving position & feels well put together. SE models are fitted with heated seats & I specified the heated screen which works well in icy conditions & when it has been raining it clears the moisture off inside of screen - this should be standard on all cars. Downsides - the fuel consumption is worse than stated & of older diesel cars - NOT PROGRESS. The auto braking has cut in when a cat jumped off a wall (in town) onto the nearside pavement & the car did an emergency stop nearly caused a rear end collision, also does the same when reversing into a gate or garage & car is some 500 mm away from the SIDE WALL - the car will suddenly stop, these are un-necessary / poor technology that needs redesigning. SKODA sell this as an SUV vehicle & shows supposedly adult cycles standing inside the vehicle - this is NOT POSSIBLE. SKODA should look & learn from the 2005 year Renault Modus models that had an inbuilt bike rack system & make this an option now that this model cannot have a tow bar fitted to take a cycle rack.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

I feel the MPG in everyday use even on a long motorway trip is poor - compared to the manufacturers figures. Purchased with intention of having a towbar fitted by supplier for a cycle rack - as SKODA sales literature states. However Skoda no longer permit for this model - supplier garage were not aware at the time of my purchase.
