Yes. The newer model, or maybe the Superb.

For the mileage and condition i think i got a good deal.

I needed a big, reliable & economical family car.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
For a biggish car it's pretty nimble. Body roll is limited, and blasting down a country lane is quite amusing. My model has the PD 130hp engine which is a VAG jem. Torquey, and coupled with a slick 6sp box its a pleasure to drive. 0-60mph is less than 10 secs.
What's it like to park?
Not too bad with big mirrors and sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
I had the Octavia over 5 years now. In that time its been very reliable. I've replaced a front wheel bearing and both rear dampers. Most parts seem quite cheap, and its an easy car to work on.
What's most practical about your car?
The car is spacious and practical. The boot is fairly big and with the seats down can swallow most loads.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
My models is very well equipped. The reversing sensors come in handy! It also has climate control and a CD changer.
