  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

The increasing popularity means people see it more as an economical choice, but it lacks prestige

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

People are a bit apprehensive at first, but everyone seems to enjoy the novelty and are envious of the excellent visibility

Would you buy this car again and why?

Probably not, as my needs will soon outgrow a small two-seater

What are you likely to buy next?

    Probably an Alfa Romeo 159

    £3,000

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Rather jerky to drive in full auto, but good fun once you get the hang of the semi-auto mode. The slow gear changes require a resonable amount of forward planning into corners, particularly as the turbo takes a while to spin down. Motorway driving is pleasant, though it lacks the grunt to cope in the outside lane (and electronically limited to 84 mph). Stiff ride makes it uncomfortable for journeys of more than a few hours, but the cabin is surprisingly spacious and the boot easily manages a weekly shop or a large suitcase

    What's it like to park?

    A doddle

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

No problems so far, though using Mercedes for servicing increases the running costs significantly

What's most practical about your car?

Easy parking, particularly when manouvering around crowded Multistoreys

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Gated accelerator allows you an extra inch of throttle when you need some extra boost
