Ssangyong Musso 1995-
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good if you buy 2nd hand, quick depreciation. I'm the first owner since 1996 (7 years...) mainly because of its quick depreciation.

    Costs

    2 out of 5 2.0

Parts are expensive. Engine needs regular care, Automatic transmission is sensitive, and expensive to maintain.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

OK on the road, does feel heavy because it seriously lacks power. TDI engines are much better. If you have extra cash, you can fit a turbo intercooler charger for about 2500GBP to get about 145HP.

    Performance

    2 out of 5 2.0

Too slow on the road. Off road it is OK, but too little ground clearence. There are better vehicles out there for off-road (Shogun, Discovery).

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

So-so, many trim issues, some engine oil leaks and automatic gearbox needs attantion. The torsion bar dislocated on the highway, and I"m lucky to survive...

Nobody knows it, which is neigher good nor bad.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Comfortable on and off road. Tends to be too soft and the coils loose their tension. If you replace the shock absorbers, retention the torsion bars and replace the front coils you would improve that.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

No issues here, nobody would want to steal it. Put and aftermarket Immobiliser and alarm system

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

In Israel there are no major issues getting service or parts.

  • Problems and Ownership
