The Rodius hasn’t been tested by Euro NCAP, but its gargantuan size means it’s unlikely to come off worse in a crash. Standard safety equipment includes twin front airbags, ABS with electronic stability control and three-point seatbelts for all seven on board. Every car has remote central locking, an immobiliser and an alarm.

This is Rodius’ strongest suit, but it’s not without criticism. It’s more than five metres long and two metres tall, but this doesn’t quite equate to carry-all practicality. The rear bench seat is removable (although it’s incredibly heavy), but the seats in the second row don’t come out, which is strange for an people carrier. It means that transporting big boxes, long objects or awkward loads is very difficult.

The rear seats can also be turned into a double bed. There are plenty of cubbies in the cabin, including cupholder and sunglasses holder.
