  • Summary

What does this car say about you?

It suits my wife down to the ground.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think it's a bit funny, until they find out how good it is in the snow, or down a country track.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes - it may be an old design, but it's never missed a beat in eight winters and it's never got stuck in any snow, despite our trying. It's economical, and while it's not a great car for a long distance drive that's not it's point.

What are you likely to buy next?

To replace the Jimmy? Another Jimmy. No contest. A good car in town, split fold rear seats are practical, and utterly dependable in the winter. And it's fun - it's got bags of character.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

It's a bit bumpy, and not great on long trips, but as it's been mainly used for my wife to commute to work it's been ideal. On motorways it could do with more oomph, but generally the 1.3 patrol engine is good. It's nippy, but not the most refined drive, although expecting refinement from a little 4x4 is a bit much.

    What's it like to park?

A breeze. Small enough for even tight spaces, and the high driving position means visibility is great.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

It's getting ready for a new clutch, but otherwise nothing other than that, and Jimmy clutches are not expensive.

What's most practical about your car?

Good city car combined with great in the snow. It's never got stuck, and believe me, I've tried.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Selectable two or four wheel drive, with low ratio 4x4 means it's like a mountain goat.
