Performance All-Wheel Drive auto 4d
Tesla Model 3 review (2023)

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

This is the best car I’ve ever owned. It has phenomenal performance (0-62 in 3.2 secs!) and its handles beautifully thanks to Batteries under the floor meaning a low centre of gravity.. My model came with 18” aero wheels rather than the normal 20” alloys so ride comfort & range closer to the long range dual motor model. Handles potholes and speedbumps well but some surfaces do produce road noise esp on motorways. So far over 7500 miles i m using 285 Wh/mile which works out at £68 per thousand miles. Figures are better in summer & below 60mph.. worse jn winter & in gridlocked traffic. Because range is 230-320 miles & recharging on Tesla superchargers is easy cheap and very fast, long or very long journeys are no problem in a Model 3. London to inverness would be 4x 15 min stops on a roughly 11 hour drive during which time you can do a toilet stop and grab a coffee (or watch Netflix in the car!). I have lamp post chargers in the street that like Tesla cost 24p a kWh which is less than most public chargers. All the options you need are included apart from full self driving, & optional colours inside and out The tech and entertainment is fantastic with w decent web browser, netflix and youtube and spotify all included as is your data in year one on dual motor versions. Its also very roomy and practical (although a saloon not a hatch) with a big boot, another boot underneath it and a frunk under the bonnet Essentially there is no reason to choose a piston diesel or petrol model over this Its faster, quieter, more refined, better equipped, more spacious, cheaper to fuel & service, massively cheaper to tax, exempt from congestion charges and simply better with much more advanced tech than any piston diesel or petrol competitors. A new update has just increased the range for new orders & cut some prices. The standard range plus now has decent range but if you can afford it the best all round choice is the dual motor long range model.

How reliable do you find the car?

Only issue was some condensation in one of the rear lights. To fix it I just booked an appointment and it is replaced by a mobile service car at my house. If I needed to be away I could have unlocked the car remotely for him from anywhere via the app

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Just brilliant. Better than any piston engine competitor in any situation including long trips where the car is able to manage much of the motorway driving and charges very fast
