Some parts a bit price, but few bits needed. Drive carefully to save diesel.

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Smooth and stable, even at speed. Correctly weighted steering, feels lovely.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Wow, what an engine, for a diesel proper 4x4, must be the best.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Not caused me a problem yet. Superbly engineered. Most live in desserts, so should be fine for a few 100,000 miles.

    Image

Makes X5s and Range Rovers etc look pathetic. Strong, tough and classless. Very few around, so quite special.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Big comfy seats, push button suspension controls, prefer it to BMW 5 series ride.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Ok, mines old, so no alarm etc, fit a good system and it should be fine. Car is strong.

    Service

    5 out of 5 5.0

I turn up to a big Toyota dealer with a 12 year old Japanese import. I'm treated like a king. Very impressed.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

    Nope, nothing here yet either.

    Other

Changed rears shocks, but pretty normal for any car after 12 years. Mine were special (Expensive) adjustable ones, had to come from Japan. Took couple of days. Impressed again.
