• Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Don't know. I think it's quite understated. The roads aren't full of them, like Discos or X5s.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Family love it - but then this one doesn't smell of wet dogs and sheep yet. Much nicer than the 90 it replaced.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I'd buy another Landcruiser. Although probably not until I can afford a 150 (the 2009 model).

What are you likely to buy next?

    Landcruiser 150.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £13,250

When did you buy the car?

    November 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think it was OK. No way was anyone selling for the prices the price guides suggest. Was £2K under something equivalent from franchised dealer, although part service history missing. Had had its brake calipers replaced recently though.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Need something that can tow > 2.5 tons, with real off road ability, plus space for the family.

    What was the dealer like?

Nice guy. Only our disagreement about what I thought I should pay for it!

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very relaxing. I'm not a quick driver. It's smooth and comfortable compared to the Landcruiser 90 (Colorado) it replaced.

    What's it like to park?

OK. It's big, but I don't find it a problem.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

No. But these do have a recall for failing injector seals. When mine went in the Toyota garage told me there was plenty of gunk in the sump meaning the seals were failing, so lucky I had it done. I know of a few D4D engines that have popped so important to know about this.

What's most practical about your car?

    Interior space.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Not really a gadgets person. My first auto car ever, which is very relaxing on road, but I don't feel like I get enough engine braking on off-road descents.
