What does this car say about you?

Not sure about this one, we bought it because we wanted a seven seater so granparents could come with us on family days out and we wouldn't have to use two cars. Thinking about the environment. My wife didn't want anytrhing that resembled a van with seats.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They love it and some of them drive prestigious German brands. Build quality is what really gets them.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. Hopefully carefree motoring and fuel costs no worse than the 2 litre petrol mondeo we had.

What are you likely to buy next?

For me a nice little sports car. May be a 350Z or VX220

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    May 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

O.k deal good p/ex for mondeo

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed a large family car. Previous car Ford mondeo estate 2002 engine on its way out after 73000 miles! Checked the other 4X4 and this was simply the best despite what the mags say

    What was the dealer like?

    Excellent

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Easy to drive despite size. Plenty of torque for sensible overtaking including a kick down feature. The mags say it rolls, pitches and dives. It does roll but it controlled well. The diving does not occurr unless under extreme braking. ABS takes care of it. The Volvo XC90 which the mags rate was much worse in all conditions when I test drove it. I wouldn't like to over take in one of those. It makes the noises but delivers nothing much.

    What's it like to park?

Easier than the mondeo estate we had. It's the wifes car and in 3 months no dents or scratches so must be O.k.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing gone wrong so far. Not expecting it too either. I've had alot of cars from various manufacturers -both new and used. All have had gremlins. My mother bought a corrolla new which I then bought off her. For 8 years apart from regular service costs the only thing that has gone wrong is a fuel sensor. Not bad for a car approaching 80,000 miles.

What's most practical about your car?

Can seat up to eight though rear seat cramped. But for our family of five all the space we ever need plus roof bars for the bikes. Superb family car.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Sat nav is excellent. Array of off road toys which I simply haven't tested yet. Planning to go on a toyota off-road course when finances allow.
