Had my Yaris T3 as my first car, and it's been incredible, the only reason I've changed it is because I now need something a little bigger with 4WD.
It's great as a run around, having never returned less than 42mpg, and is quick enough when you need it to be and is great fun to drive. It will happily sit at 75 on a motorway for miles and miles, though wind noise is loud at times.
Being a Toyota, the Yaris is effortlessly reliable, cheap to maintain, run, and insure, even for new drivers (having paid sub-£1k for my first year of driving which is unheard of!).
This car really has been a joy to own, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking for a cheap, economical, and reliable hatchback.
