Toyota Yaris Hatchback (2006 - 2011) 1.4 D-4D TR 3d Owner Review

Plus points - Toyota reliability; very roomy cabin and flexible boot space with sliding rear seats and hidden storage below the floor; very few rattles and squeaks for a 125,000 mile car; very easy to drive Minus points - fuel economy not as good as I expected from a diesel; "paint" finish (it actually looks like a plastic film) on bumpers and mirrors peeling; insurance is more expensive than other more "sporty" cars eg. Panda 100HP is cheaper to insure. In summary this is a good cheap run around - except insurance. Its quiet, smooth and reliable and cover motorway miles easily. The diesel engine has lots of torque above 2000rpm which is great for hills and overtaking in the rural roads where I live.
