Vauxhall Astra Hatchback boot space, practicality and safety

1991 - 1998 (change model)
Practicality rating: 4 out of 54.0

Written by Parkers Published: 6 June 2019 Updated: 6 June 2019

All models have an immobiliser and an alarm was optional and all models except the convertible on which it was standard fit. Driver’s airbag was standard across the range from 1993 although the passenger airbag was optional on all but the CDX model. So security is well below model standards.

Space in the boot is pretty good and the rear seats split fold to increase carrying space as needed. Sought after estate versions offer huge carrying capacity. Saloon version also has a large boot but is much less popular.
