Bought this when I was 22 - was v.cheap to insure. Feels like a huge upgrade after 1st car. Was used to my car breaking down often so wasn't expecting much from this. Had one problem (oil leak) but part was £13 and quite a common issue. Fuel consumption amazing when driving properly (I'm quite heavy footed though!).
Due to reliability and impressive upgrades, I'm buying a mk6 Elite. The huge boot on mk5 helped me with the decision as have a baby on the way - the one on mk6 is even bigger, plus you get 5 doors.
