Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    April 2016

Did you get a good deal and why?

Used CarWow and was very impressed with the offer I took.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Son bought GTD Hatch and I was very impressed with everything about the car and there were some idiosyncrasies and faults with my BMW X3 that I couldn't live with any more 2years 11 month old when replaced.

    What was the dealer like?

Very obliging went in for a Tiguan with 1000miles on and a very large reduction on new price. Also tried a GTD Estate both DSG. Very impressed with the Tiguan but not so impressed that it was due for replacement. Liked the Passat Alltrack but this was big and, in my opinion very expensive. Dealer said there was a Golf Alltrack and a new Demonstrator was going to be available next day. Must say had a 2006 Passat estate which I loved but it kept going wrong but I loved the car. Drove the Golf Alltrack next day and I was smitten. Price given for X3 was appalling don't believe the BMW's hold there price fiction. BMW wouldn't even bid!

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Well I said in my X3 review how I though the best thing with that was the driving experience well in my opinion this is just as good and the suspension doesn't jar your bones.

    What's it like to park?

Try not to park anywhere to awkward but front and rear sensors both come on without having to be switched on (lesson here for BMW) and the rear camera is superb.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Very early days 39.6 mpg had trouble sorting out Car Net which the dealer told me wasn't on the car but, thanks to a lovely girl called Dawn at VW Helpline all was well in fact I used it today for the first time and was very impressed. Also found the cornering lights didn't work Dealer had not seen this problem as it was onl the second Golf Alltrack they'd seen turned out that when the drive setting is on Eco one of the things it does is switch these off. Set the computer to Individual and set everything to Eco except Dynamic lighting and the problem is resolved. Also had a problem where the phone Bluetooth wouldn't disconnect but a young technician called Chris soon sorted that.

What's most practical about your car?

Plenty of boot space for dogs handy two height floor fabulous rear view camera.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Adaptive Cruise control Magic! In traffic with DSG only have to steer the car comes to a halt and takes off automatically, mind you only the brave will do this. Also love the Bi Xenons which I also loved on the Passat.
