VW Golf Estate 2009-

In their own words

Brought this in 2018 with 103k Miles. Now with exactly 140k 19 months later we have replaced a few consumables but, “Gary” our cherished workhorse does exactly what is expected. Weak aircon compressors on these as was on the mk5. And we actually have the 89 bhp version which is... lazy but realistically where can you put your foot down these days?... .Not the best on fuel, but if you drive like Granny used to, you can achieve 65 on the motorway. Gear whine is common and Gary sings at 50 so if you get one don’t worry about it. Oh yes also agm battery on these is Very expensive and the “stop-start” tech has cut in just once as it’s very sensitive to the battery voltage. We’ve left it alone. Overall Gary the Golf just keeps on going, we love him and will probably keep him till he dies. Unless someone gives me a Tesla for free. Like actually for free.
