I don't want my car to say anything about me. I buy something because I like it.

Can you think of anyone who doesn't like the Golf nevermind the GTi?

Would you buy this car again and why?

Absolutely, without any question. It is the best all round car I have owned.

What are you likely to buy next?

That's a hard one. I nearly always go for a change of make but at the moment VW make the best range of cars out there. I am confident I would buy another VW although prices are beginning to get out of hand in the current economic climate.

Did you get a good deal and why?

It isn't the sort of car where great deals can be got. However, this one was pre-registered so I did pay less than normal retail price for the spec list I wanted ie Leather seats, 18" wheels, cruise control + more.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Because I always wanted to own a Golf GTi and decided that now I could I would.

What was the dealer like?

I travelled a long way to do this deal (over 120 miles each way). They delivered the car for me all the way from Coventry. That was worth a special mention.

What's it like to drive?

Absolutely brilliant. I usualy get bored of my cars after two years and need a change. After 27 months with this I still love it. It can be a relaxed luxury family hatch one day and a sports car the next.

What's it like to park?

Ok but 18" wheels can be quite vulnerable as in any car.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing at all. After two years still as good as it was. No, actually I do need to ask about one of the stereo speakers which isn't working anymore, but that is literally it. It's a bit heavy on tyres though.

What's most practical about your car?

It is all the car you will ever need. Ideal for the family, great to drive and top drawer image.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Heated leather seats and cruise control. I also went for the Adaptive Chassis Control but the novelty wore off after a month (not worth spending your money on that in my opinion). I must also note that it is rather mean of VW to charge £140 extra for electrically folding mirrors. On a car costing this much that is very tight indeed.
