Friends have complemented the car for being a VW, so the branding stands for something positive.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would consider a MK6, but perhaps something with better performance.

Can't afford to at the moment, so I will keep this gem until I or the car falls apart.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Bought off a friend, but they had maintained the service and repair demands.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Cheap and needed a safe car for the 60 mile commute.

What was the dealer like?

What's it like to drive?

A relative minor point, the FSI 1.6 struggles sometimes, its not great at accelerating uphill, although once on the move the engine is flexible enough - best at 50mph+.

What's it like to park?

Visibility is reasonable, steering turn is good. Light steering and light clutch helps.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Minor electrical glitches, central locking, rear wiper occasionally having a life of its own, driver mirror de-frost not working.

What's most practical about your car?

Fits 4 6+ footers with no issues, calming experience to drive, good sized boot, driver ergonomics.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

6th gear, cruise control.
