Don't read too much into the very few cases of 'disaster'. There are millions of these things around with moon mileage (whether they show this accurately on the dash is another thing!) yet only the ones which fail get the publicity. Regular servicing is vital. A smooth, powerful, economical mile muncher. The brake calliper was a headache but £200 odd quid at Norwood Autos in Bradford and all was good.
How reliable do you find the car?
Electronic handbrake failure required expensive calliper and clutch switch.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Heard a lot of negatives about this model and engine but of maintained just as durable as the old 1.9's in my view. Much smoother anyway.About their car
