Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

This car has what VW deem lots of character, I call them faults. Some annoying some dangerous. The annoying ones are the grinding windscreen wipers, the knotty gearbox and the green slime that gathers around the boot and the water that pours off when you open the boot after rainfall. The dangerous characteristic is the stiff creaky handbrake that was recalled and they have still failed to fix after four attempts. It is so stiff you have to use two hands to pull it up. You pull it so high to engage it causing the cable to stretch which means it requires tightening every 6 months or so. The handbrake on my car failed and the car rolled into my house, fortunately no one was hurt. If you do buy leave it in gear all the time to be safe. I am gladly getting rid of this car to purchase another brand which hopefully has more positive “characteristics”.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Numerous safety recalls and bodged fixes. VW calls the faults characteristics of the car. A stiff, creaky handbrake which needs frequent attention as it loosens off is not a characteristic is is a safety concern.
