Bought as a Company Car so everything was paid for. The monthly cost was reasonable - due to low depreciation.

    Costs

as for Value comment above. I would have linked to have better MPG. Total average mpg is 38. can squeeze 44mpg out of it on the Motorway. Most driving is around town.

Good comfortable position. It can roll a bit as it is a big heavy beast. Sometimes you forget what momentum this car has. When parking at Sainsbury's, I always use two spaces - and away from the rest of the cars.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Glad I went for the 115BHP rather than the 90BHP.It can kick in well when you need it. The Turbo also upsets the young boy racers. They cant believe this tank can go.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    2 out of 5 2.0

Not had a great experience. Wife blames it on being a Green car. Have had all brakes replaced steering column replaced anti roll bars replaced (4 times) (test mechanic says this is an inherant problem - so why not recall it) air-con replaced twice

It's a big MPV so image is more related to Fruedian Manlihood. It is a VW though - but then again VW are about to go defunkt in the next 5 years.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good solid ride. Comfortable seat. Acres of room - so much so that you cannot wallop the kids in the back from the driving position. Full size seven seats all with 3 point belts. The kids converter booster and baby seats inside a normal seat are ace.

  • Security and Service

    Security

Never been broken into - who would want to steal an MPV. The alarm works totally automatically and is easily disarmed. Deadlocks all round.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

This car, 4 years old and 29,000 on the clock - it has been back to the garage too much more than a car costing £21k should do. I think my fridge has been more reliable than this Volkswagen, no - my fridge has definately been more reliable than this VW

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

    Never had a problem.

    Other

Brakes, steering, anti roll bars and Air-con all been replaced, along with other minor parts. Glad it was a company car. Could never have afforded it otherwise. The Aircon is basically the Passat Aircon unit trying to do same job in a car twice the size.
