7400 miles in 19 days driving from Manchester to the Tropic of Cancer in Western Sahara and back. Superb ... 120+mph on the Morocco desert highway up the Algerian border. Not a single issue , on or off road.
Driving at 55mph for 200 miles gave me 53 mpg ... boring driving but I had to prove what it can do. I've had 3 LRs, a Trooper but the VW Escape is my favorite off roader. Definately recommend. My only issue is I think the paint work is a bit soft and is eaily scratched , so what, I purchased it for reliability, not good looks.
