Volvo XC60 (2023) review

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

Style over substance. The car’s interior is very fine indeed, and the seats deserve particular praise. But my experience is that reliability has been poor; the car is poorly executed; the driving experience is lacking, with brake feel a particular issue; and it is very expensive for what it is. I’d not buy this car again.

How reliable do you find the car?

Had regular faults with this car: - undesired operation of powered tailgate - faulty intervention of automatic braking - false alerts from collision warning system - radio system changing stations unprompted - gearbox issues (failure of drive when manoeuvring) - petrol engine failing to shut off Overall I am not confident in driving the car as its reliability is so patchy and unpredictable.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Thoughtfully designed but poorly executed. - rear door apertures too small, and become dirty very quickly - SENSUS infotainment display becoming slow and clunky - voice controls unreliable - flimsy construction in some areas (eg front wings) - poor ride on air suspension (crashy on poor surfaces) - petrol engine is coarse - electric engine is feeble - gearbox to petrol engine is slow-witted and reluctant to change down when accelerating - fuel economy less than impressive on petrol or electric power
