Our second XC90, 10 years newer than the last. Some improvements but a major step back in economy. I'm not sure what they changed about the engine, it has more power but is not really noticeably quicker. This XC90 averaged about 27mpg over 18K miles, vs about 33mpg for a car the same size but 10 years older. The space is good but the cabin feels really dated for a car made in 2014.
Feels positively tractor like next to our Merc GLC. If the Merc GLE came with 7 seats I wouldn't even look at the new XC90 when it comes to replacement.
