Mercedes-Benz is releasing a new limited edition of its X-Class pickup – the Storm Edition.
The highly specified special model is being released in time for Black Friday, and comes packaged with a two-hour off-road driving experience to sweeten the deal.
The Storm Edition is based on the X250d 4Matic Power version of the X-Class truck.
What equipment does the Storm Edition come with?
As well as all the kit that usually comes with the Power trim, the Storm Edition gets a tonneau cover for the load bay, a load bed liner and a black styling bar. It also gets side bars, front and rear mud flaps and velour floor mats.
There are also a few natty graphics on the outside of the pickup, with the lightning strike on the tailgate the one that most sets the Storm Edition apart from the rest of the range.
By virtue of being based on the Power trim, it also gets kit that includes black leather upholstery, Mercedes’ Comand Online infotainment system, roof rails, LED headlights, parking package with 360-degree camera, and 19-inch bi-colour alloy wheels.
If all that wasn’t enough, then buyers will get a two-hour off-road driving experience. There are a few restrictions, though – you need to take it in December and it can only be at one of three regional UK locations.
How much does the Storm Edition cost?
Rather than quoting a cash price, Mercedes has only given business-user contract hire rates for the Storm Edition, which gives you a fair idea of who it is being aimed at.
It’s available on a 36-month term for £449 a month (not including VAT) with an initial rental of £2,694 on a 10,000-mile a year agreement.
Mercedes has not said how many versions of the X-Class Storm Edition will be made, or how much it costs if you go in with cash but as this offer is only available until the end of the year it may well be that once 31 December comes around, that will be it.
Is that all of Mercedes’ Black Friday offers?
No. You can also get a Vito Sport with a Sports Styling Pack for £259 a month. This means you get chrome side bars and grille and some grey branded decals. Sadly you don’t get the off-road driving package as part of this deal, though.
