In their own words

After owning a VW Golf SV 1.4 TSI with DSG for 3 years, I traded it for a BMW Active Tourer 2,0i DSG, having had several BMW 3 series in the past. The AT was a big disappointment ergonomically and poorly equipped for a so called Luxury version. After 7 months, I decided to trade it in for what I consider, was the nearest current VW to the now discontinued Golf SV.

I decided on a T-Roc 1.5 TSI Evo SE version with DSG and it has mainly lived up to my expectations of a Golf SV replacement. Performance is excellent, as is the ride and comfort, although rear leg room is far less than the SV. The boot is a good size and shape and it's reassuring to see a spare wheel and jack under the floor.

Choose version carefully, as SE doesn't have a rear camera (since fitted at cost of £300) or VW's sat nav (I prefer Garmin anyway) but cost around £1500 less than the SEL

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Exceptionally quiet car and comfortable although rear leg room less than the Golf SV, which had a sliding rear seat.
