You sit low in the Z4 and there is plenty of adjustment on the standard seats. However, lots of owners specified BMW’s optional electrically adjustable sports seats, which offer better support. The reach to the gear stick and steering wheel feel very comfortable whether you are tall or short, and all the dials are clear and controls easy to use. Overall it is a classy, stylish and luxurious place to be.

Even the standard, manually-adjusted seats are very comfortable, but the sports seats are the way to go if you like to drive hard. The option of electrical adjustment means it is easier to adjust your driving position on the move (say if you want to stretch out on the motorway) and the passenger has plenty of legroom too. With the roof down there is a fair amount of wind buffeting, even with the optional wind deflector fitted, although holding conversations on the motorway is possible.
