Ford has unveiled its S-Max concept, a very close-to-production version of the car that is due to arrive in the UK in 2015.

Sportier looks and extra practicality are the stand-out features.

Available as either a four-, five- or seven-seater, there is no end to the S-Max’s versatility as a family car.

Although unveiled as a concept car, Ford have given a strong indication that a lot of the features seen in the concept will make it to production.

Electric Focus

Ford Focus Electric Frankfurt

An electric version of the popular Ford Focus has finally made it to production and was available to view on the Ford stand at this year’s show.

Ford now has 10 vehicles in the UK with CO2 emissions under 100g/km, demonstrating the manufacturers ongoing commitment to developing low carbon cars and vans.

The zero-emission Focus Electric, now available to buy in the UK, features an electric motor and lithium-ion battery powertrain that produces 144bhp and achieves a top speed of 84mph. Ford claims a full charge of the Focus Electric battery will deliver a 100-mile range.

This new car will be priced from £33,500, with an expected on the road price of £28,500 – allowing for the £5,000 UK Government Plug-in Car Grant.

Ford Mondeo

Ford Mondeo Vignale Estate

For one reason or another, production of the fourth-generation Ford Mondeo has been delayed a number of times already, building suspense for when it arrives in dealerships next year.

To ease our impatience, the new Mondeo was on display on the Ford stand at the show in various guises including the new luxury Vignale trim.

The new Ford grille and the inclusion of LED headlamps gives the car a more striking look and included when the car eventually goes on sale will be Ford’s infotainment system coupled with MyFord Touch, voice-activated technology that allows the driver to change music and input sat-nav directions by talking.
