The previous Voyager was crash tested by Euro NCAP in 1999 and performed poorly. This version was tested in early 2007 and fared just as bad with a two star result in an age when four and five stars are the norm. There is said to be “an unacceptably high risk of serious or fatal injury”. Side airbags and ABS are standard – as you’d expect from a car of this class.

Deadlocks and remote central locking are standard.

This model comes into its own if you’ve got seven people AND their luggage to carry – it can just about do both. Removing the seats isn’t an easy task – they’re bulky, very heavy and awkward to store. However, since December 2004 the Grand Voyager has been transformed with the ‘Stow ‘n’ Go’ seating system. The underpinnings have been redesigned to accommodate second and third row fold-flat seats.

When folded flat the Grand Voyager is as roomy as a van in the back, and the best part about them is that when the seats are being used the compartments used to store them in when folded are available to store other items.
