Ford has announced new engine options for its Kuga 4x4 range, as well as reduced prices.

A 163bhp 2.0-litre TDCi diesel joins the line up, offering average fuel economy of 47.1mpg and CO2 emissions of 159g/km, placing it in the 22% benefit-in-kind tax banding.

Joining the range-topping diesel is new 140bhp version of the 2.0 TDCi diesel.

This replaces the old 136bhp unit and delivers CO2 emissions of 159g/km and economy of 47.1mpg in four-wheel drive mode.

However, a cheaper front-wheel drive version with the same engine offers economy of nearly 48mpg and CO2 emissions of 156g/km.

A PowerShift six-speed semi-automatic gearbox can also be specified with four-wheel drive in the 140 and 163bhp diesels.

Drivers can also specify 'Individual' trim levels, offering options such as a different front grille, body-coloured side skirts and wheel arches, 19-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and privacy glass.

And with Ford's recent announcement of price cuts, the Kuga range is now around £1,300 cheaper, with prices starting at £20,495.
