Mercedes-Benz is targeting user-choosers with its revised E-Class Coupe range which has just gone on sale, offering more equipment and lower emissions.

The range is priced from £35,095 for the E220 CDI SE model – a £2,000 increase over the previous generation but this is partially off-set by the inclusion of more standard equipment.

Mercedes-Benz is also claiming reduced CO2 emissions across the range – the E220 CDI drops from 128 to 123g/km while the E250 CDI unit records a 5g/km drop to 129g/km. The E350 BlueTEC diesel records CO2 emissions of 150g/km – a drop of 4g/km over the previous range-topping V6 diesel engine.

As a result, the E220 CDI and E250 CDI models all drop one benefit-in-kind tax band. The E350 remains in the 25% banding for company car tax purposes.

In line with the recently revised E-Class saloon and estate line-ups, the Coupe has a revised front end with new partial LED headlamps comprising a single headlamp lens. There is a new front bumper with a more pronounced V-shape and large air intakes and at the rear, new tail lamps and wide-effect rear bumper with ‘wing design’ and chrome-look trim.

In entry-level SE trim (only available as the E220 CDI), buyers of the revised Coupe range gain 17-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels, a new front apron with Sport grille, leather upholstery with heated front seats and dark aluminium trim.

Range-topping AMG Sport models (available as E220 CDI, E250 CDSI, E350 BlueTEC and E200 petrol) add 18-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels, upgraded front brakes featuring branded calipers and perforated discs, new AMG bodystyling, leather upholstery with multi-contour heated front seats, an AMG steering wheel in nappa leather with flattened bottom section and AMG floor mats.

For new AMG Sport models, there is the option of upgrading to the AMG Sport Plus package (available from October and priced at £1,795), consisting of 19-inch AMG bi-colour alloy wheels, an AMG boot spoiler in body colour, red seat belts, AMG Sports with red stitching, AMG steering wheel with red stitching, AMG floor mats with red edging and red stitching on the door panels, centre console and armrest.
