Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 35 - 64 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Dacia Duster running costs are as competitive as any car in the sector. The most economical engine is the 110hp 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to the six-speed manual gearbox. It has a claimed combined economy of 64.2mpg in two-wheel drive form, so expect to get around the mid-fifties in real-world driving.

The greenest engine in the Dacia Duster range is the 110hp diesel. It emits 115g/km of CO2, but even with the EDC automatic gearbox it emits 116g/km, so you don’t have to compromise between manual and auto.

As the brand is unproven in the UK it’s difficult to judge Dacia Duster reliability. However, the Duster technology comes from parent company Renault, it should prove to be reasonably good.
