This model was never crash tested by Euro NCAP but it comes well equipped with dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags, side impact protection guards and ABS. There’s also remote central locking, deadlocks and an immobiliser.

While rear legroom is poor, this does mean the Grand Cherokee has a large boot with a wide and deep load area. The tailgate glass can be opened separately which is very useful in tight spaces and multi-storey car parks. The rear seat backs fold down (although not flat) to increase carry space and there’s also a set of roofbars fitted.
