Overview

When it comes to high performance, four-door saloons, few cars can match the incredible power and pace of the E-Class AMG. It was originally available with a 476bhp V8, but if this wasn’t already powerful enough, it was later upgraded to a 6.2-litre engine with 514bhp and a 0-62mph of just 4.5 seconds – that’s quicker than an Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

Like alternatives such as the Audi RS6 and BMW M5 – the AMG is available as either a saloon or an estate which means it can be as practical as it is powerful. It’s incredibly expensive to run and very thirsty too – but blends effortless acceleration with superb refinement.
