Overview

Renaultsport is to Renault what VXR is to Vauxhall and ST is to Ford. Except, it is taken a bit more seriously by the French company. All Renaultsport models are constructed at their own factory in Dieppe, and Renault also has decades of success in Formula One racing to draw on as rich sports heritage. The Renaultsport Megane from 2006 is a decent hot hatch that’s unusually available with a diesel engine alongside the more popular 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol.

It’s not as easy to live with day to day as a Focus ST nor as enjoyable to drive as a Civic Type-R, but it is quick nonetheless.
