There’s a modern feel to the interior with clean lines, a lack of clutter and a digital speedometer read out. There are plenty of soft-touch materials too, helping the car feel more upmarket than some other mainstream products. If the panoramic sunroof is chosen, the Megane Sport Tourer feels even more pleasant and airy. The driver’s seat has lumbar support adjustment on every model, both front seats are height adjustable plus the steering can be altered for height and reach.

The Renault Megane Sport Tourer comfort is among the best. It has a roomy interior – there is extra leg room compared with the hatchback version because of its extended wheelbase – and all models come with air conditioning as well as electric windows. The seats offer good support for passengers and headroom is excellent, even for taller passengers in the rear.

Engine noise is muted whether driving a petrol or a diesel and there is little other noise intrusion, although tyre noise is more noticeable on models with larger wheels.
