  • Familiar Skoda interior layout
  • Easy to get comfy and easy to use
  • Solid materials used throughout

Skoda interiors are lessons in how to do things simply, with a fuss-free design that’s easy to get used to in a hurry. Design-wise, it’s very similar to many other Skoda models, with a solid build and decent materials. It’s not quite as high quality as models like the Superb and the Kodiaq, but it’s a much cheaper model, so we can forgive it.

All of the switchgear feels robust, and the touchscreen infotainment systems (where fitted) are easy and responsive to use.

There’s also plenty of adjustment in the seats and steering wheel, so it won’t take long to get comfortable behind the wheel. However, it’s not the widest cabin and if you specify a Rapid with a centre armrest, it can clash with the handbrake which could become annoying.

Comfort

  • Comfort levels high
  • Compliant ride
  • Good driving position

Skoda Rapid comfort levels are very high. The ride is compliant even on roads that are littered with potholes yet you’ll still feel refreshed after long motorway journeys.

Another bonus is that the seats are comfortable, with plenty of lateral to support to hem you in when cornering at speed.

The driving position is good while the cabin is focused around the driver. In addition, if you pay extra for sportier-looking seats, you’ll benefit from a huge amount of support and comfort.

Wind, road and engine noise are well silenced but the lower-powered petrols and the diesels do get a little vocal, particularly when you are pulling away or on start-up.
