Chrysler has launched a new 300C super barge at Detroit and it's set to take aim at cars like Audi's A6 and the BMW 5-Series.
The UK's best-selling Chrysler gets a slightly less garish exterior than before with the front end looking suspiciously like its distant relative, the Mercedes E-Class. It will appear in showrooms some time in 2012 with a choice of four trim levels.
The base level 300 gets a cloth interior, 17" alloy wheels and LED lighting, while the higher-spec ‘Limited' adds leather seats (with the front ones being heated), ‘Uconnect' voice command, a rear-view camera, an upgraded stereo and flashy 18" wheels.
Lower-end 300Cs will feature a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine and five-speed automatic gearbox. However, if you are fond of your local petrol station, you can opt for the higher spec with a gargantuan 5.7-litre V8 engine and eight-speed automatic gearbox. This trim level adds more luxurious interior items such as a heated steering wheel, adjustable pedals, LED interior lighting and electric folding mirrors. There will also be the option to choose four-wheel drive instead of the standard car's rear-wheel drive.
Ticking the box on the option list titled ‘SafetyTec Group' means you get HID headlights, a forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and audible parking sensors.
