The Infiniti Q60 scores well on safety kit, with a vast array included on the base-spec Premium model.

You get:

• Six airbags

Sport cars feature the DAS drive-by-wire steering system, which also includes Active Lane Control – a system that allows the car to automatically steer and keep you in your lane while driving on the motorway.

Premium Tech and Sport Tech cars also get the Full Safety Pack, netting adaptive cruise control along with blindspot and lane-departure warning and prevention, and also the Visibility Pack, which includes adaptive headlights with automatic main beam and an ‘around-view monitor’ system that displays a 360-degree view of the car for parking in tight spots. 

• Relatively small boot
• Adequate interior storage

The boot measures just 342 litres, which is smaller than a VW Golf. While you’ll still get a weekly shop in there without much hassle, crucially it’s a significant 100 litres smaller than the BMW 4 Series or Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, and at least 50 litres less than all of its mainstream rivals.

We found the boot’s opening wasn’t the most practical, either, because despite its low loading lip height the aperture itself isn’t anywhere near the size of a hatchback’s, so larger items may be difficult to load.

Inside the Q60 it’s clear the emphasis is on the front two occupants, with twin cupholders and storage in the doors for bottles or smaller items. There isn’t a huge amount of storage in the dash itself because the screens take up more of the space, but there’s a further cubby underneath the centre armrest with two USB sockets to charge your devices.
