Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 25 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

A 5-litre V8 was never going to be a cheap thing to run and sadly the Lexus GS-F running costs suffer slightly from the choice of a naturally aspirated unit compared with its turbocharged rivals.

Lexus says it’ll get 25.2mpg but that would require some pretty careful driving, and the absence of any of that glorious engine sound.

Carbon dioxide output of 260g/km means it sits in VED tax band M at time of publication which is not on the cheap side, to put it kindly. Lexus GS-F emissions are higher than some rivals, including the BMW M5.

Lexus has a brilliant reliability record and even though this GS-F is a high-performance car, we see no reason why you should have much to worry about during ownership.
