Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV verdict

2022 onwards (change model)

Written by Keith Adams Published: 20 April 2022 Updated: 26 May 2023

We’re yet to get any meaningful seat time in the EQS SUV so we’ll refrain from giving it a star rating yet.

So far it looks and feels much like a taller and heavier EQS Saloon. This means the interior wows, but there are cheap bits and it is super expensive.

The BMW iX is better to drive and while a Range Rover isn’t yet available as an EV, it is cheaper and a better luxury car.

What we like

At speed it really wafts along. You feel wonderfully insulated from the road beneath you. The Hyperscreen is a must for tech heads and the electric range looks to be spot on.

What we don’t like

Even when compared with other electric SUVs, it is expensive. There are concerns with the interior quality and the brakes are inconsistent.
