When the Citroen Nemo was launched in 2007 alongside its Peugeot Bipper and Fiat Fiorino siblings, they carved out an entirely new sector between the traditional CDV and small panel vans. They’re perfect for inner city operators, and this example from Bristol Street is up for just £7,250 plus VAT.

Load area

The load area of the Nemo is deceptively large and the 1523mm long by 1473mm wide load floor can easily swallow. A standard load height of 1,205mm helps contribute to a cargo volume of 2.5 cubic metres. The 1.75 tonne van has the same speed limits as passenger cars, but it is still able to carry 660kg.

Engine and driveline

After Euro-5 kicked-in in 2009, Citroen starting using Fiat’s 1.3-litre engines in the Nemo which is tuned to 73bhp and 190Nm of torque. Its outstanding fuel economy up to 74mpg is one of the many reasons city based operators are switching to vehicles of this size. The 1.3HDi engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

On the road

Small dimensions help the Nemo feel nimble on the road and even with a few sacks of gravel in the back it proves agile and responsive. The steering is light and the Nemo corners neatly, making it ideal for negotiating town traffic.

The near £12,000 list price means customers would be saving over £4,500. Service intervals are set at 22,500 miles or every two years, while the warranty covers the first 60,000 miles or three years, whichever comes first. Click here to view all the latest deals.
