Mitsubishi Motors has announced that the current Mitsubishi L200, launched in 2006, will be available to buy until mid-2016. The fifth generation Mitsubishi L200 will go on sale in September 2015, but Mitsubishi is keeping buyers’ options open with the availability of the cheaper, run out model.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has sold over 130,000 L200 pickups since the launch in 1987 and continues to be a strong contender, accounting for 20 percent of the overall pick up market. Towards the end of its life, Mitsubishi ramped up production of the fourth generation and stored them so sales can continue after the introduction of the fifth generation.

In addition to the lower list price compared with the 2015 model, Mitsubishi dealers are also offering a £2,000 off which means prices for the single cab start from £12,499, and £15,049 for the double cab.

“The outgoing Mitsubishi L200 represents huge value for money”, explains Lance Bradley, Managing Director for Mitsubishi Motors in the UK. “It’s been a fantastic seller for us over the past nine years because it’s a great performer on and off the road, and we expect this to continue well into the next 12 months”.

The offer is available on all models, including the lifestyle trims like the Challenger, Warrior, Barbarian and Walkinshaw, which start at £16,499, £19,599, £22,324 and £27,858 respectively. The offer is available until the September 28, 2015, but we expect it may continue beyond the deadline.

Mitsubishi’s competitive service plan (MSP), covering the first three scheduled services can be purchased for £720 (including VAT) and covers you for up to three years or 27,000 miles – whichever occurs first.
