For this week’s van deal, we’re focusing on small panel vans. We consider the latest generation of Ford Transit Connect to be the best small van on the market, and this deal from Global Vans means the can benefit the driving comfort and loading capabilities for £3,057 less than what you’d expect to pay.

Load capacity

Load volumes have improved and this short wheelbase example has a 2.9 cubic-metre load box, and is still capable of carrying loads of up to three metres in length thanks to a gate in the bulkhead. Payload on this model stands at 625kg, although long wheelbase variants carry up to one tonne.

Interior

The Transit Connect shares the same platform, and many components, with the Ford C-Max and as such benefits from passenger car refinement and handling. This particular van comes with the 73bhp variant of the 1.6 turbo-diesel engine, which provides ample torque (220Nm) and great fuel economy of a claimed 58.9mpg combined.

Aftersales

Running costs are reduced further thanks to the lengthy 20,000-mile service intervals. Ford’s commercial vehicle warranty extends up to three years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and one-year breakdown assist.
