For buyers who think Kia is merely a manufacturer of cheap cars the Ceed will come as a real surprise. Designed for the European market it's a huge improvement over its predecessor the dull Cerato and matches many of its European and Japanese rivals. The styling is neat, it's spacious inside and the interior is modern and well-finished. It won't win any awards for driver appeal but it is safe and comfortable. Customers can choose from two petrol or three diesel engines and four grades of trim along with an SR special edition. Key to winning over new buyers is a cutting edge seven-year warranty, which is just as well because the Ceed's prices seem to be rather higher than buyers of previous Kia family cars may be used to.
