The latest Clio aims to be the new class benchmark for cabin space, refinement and safety. An enormous cabin, excellent noise suppression and a five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating would appear to indicate Renault is on target. However, it has resulted in a car that is no longer as compact as it once was. At nearly four metres long the Clio is a giant in its sector. It comes with some innovative features first seen on the Renault Modus, including hands-free unlocking and ignition key card, as well as tyre pressure monitoring and cornering headlights. Cabin quality is much improved and its stylish new look adds further appeal. Two entry level versions of the previous-generation Clio, called the Clio Campus and offering customers a lower price threshold, will continue for about 12 months or so.
