Maxus T60 Max pickup dimensions, payload and towing capacity
How big is the Maxus T60 Max? You've come to the right place. On this page we cover the external dimensions, the load bed and the carrying capacity of this low-cost but capable pickup truck.
For info on the driving experience, the interior and the running costs, see our T60 Max review page.
The T60 Max is only sold as a double-cab pickup and comes in a single variant, so there are no differences in payload or kerbweight to worry about.
On the outside it has the following dimensions:
- Maxus T60 Max length: 5,395mm
- Maxus T60 Max width: 1,960mm
- Maxus T60 Max height: 1,870mm (with included roof rails)
- Maxus T60 Max wheelbase: 3,155mm
The exterior dimensions are within a few millimetres of every UK rival pickup, although the Ford Ranger and the VW Amarok are a little longer. So while the Maxus seems quite a compact looking truck in some images, it's not going to be any easy to get into a supermarket parking space and it is notably bigger than the standard-length KGM Musso.
The cargo area of the T60 Max, on the other hand, is among the smallest on the market, and has the following dimensions:
- Maxus T60 Max load bed length: 1,485mm
- Maxus T60 Max load bed width: 1,510mm
- Maxus T60 Max load bed height: 530mm
The tailgate is heavy, but has an assisted action to stop it slamming down and making it easier to raise. The standard sport bar arrangement is more about looks than utility, but can be easily removed if you need something more substantial or to fit a load bed cover.
Usefully, the rear seat back folds down to protect the upholstery if you need to carry anything inside the pickup other than people. The seat base also folds upwards, creating room to store items on the floor instead.
Powered by a 215hp bi-turbo 2.0-litre diesel engine that also produces 500Nm of torque (pulling power), the T60 Max shouldn't struggle with tougher work, and hits all the right levels when it comes to payload and towing.
- Maxus T60 Max payload capacity: 1,050kg
- Maxus T60 Max towing capacity: 3,500kg braked (750kg unbraked)
- Maxus T60 Max gross train weight (GTW): 6,350kg
The GTW - sometimes referred to as the gross trailer mass or GTM - is the total maximum legal weight of pickup and trailer. With a kerbweight of 2,200kg, the T60's 6,350kg GTW means it can tow 3,100kg with a full 1,050kg payload. And when towing the maximum 3,500kg you can carry a 650kg payload.
Just remember that the pickup's payload capacity includes the weight of the people.
