Volkswagen has launched a comprehensive aftercare package for vans aged between three and six years old. Called ‘All-in from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’, it covers your Caddy, Crafter or Transporter for almost everything for two years, and represents a substantial saving as well as the convenience of a monthly payment scheme.

VWCV calls the offer ‘the first of its kind’, and it’s available to all Volkswagen van customers, from sole traders to fleet managers.

What’s included in the Volkswagen All-in aftercare package?

Targeting vehicles that are beyond the standard three-year factory warranty, All-in includes all of the following:

  • > Two services (one minor, one major)
  • > Two years of roadside assistance (covering UK and Europe)
  • > Two MOTs (excluding remedial work)
  • > Two years of warranty

Volkswagen says the services, which will be undertaken by VW technicians using genuine parts, can be arranged to coincide with the MOTs to reduce downtime.

The Roadside Assistance includes repatriation, alternative travel and hotel accommodation for the driver and up to seven passengers.

How much does it cost and how do I qualify?

The All-in aftercare package has been set-up in conjunction with Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS), allowing VWCV to make it possible to pay for the scheme in 24 monthly instalments, each priced at what seems to be a very reasonable £34.97.

You can also pay for it outright upfront, for the total amount of £890.30.

Volkswagen claims that compared with the price of all of the components individually, the All-in price represents savings of up to £1,558.

To qualify, the vehicle needs to be between three and six years old, and to pass a ‘free eligibility check’ carried out by a technician. If taken out at the end of the van’s sixth year, it could cover it up to nearly eight years.

While VW is targetting business customers, it’s available on any qualifying VWCV vehicle, including the California campervan and 2.0-litre versions of the Amarok pickup.

Are there any exceptions?

The programme is not available for electric vans, those with engines of more than 2.0-litres in capacity, or those with more than 100,000 miles under their wheels.
