  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

A lot of car for the money, but depreciation will be bad (it's an Alfa!)

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Fuel consumption is poor when compared with other diesels of similar power (even GM cars that use the same engine eg Saab)

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Overall a very enjoyable experience - I still look forward to every journey after 8 months of ownership

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very good particularly round the twisties, provided you are happy working the gearbox after hitting the 4k redline. Torque is superb & the only thing that reminds you that you are in a diesel

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

Past Alfa's have been poor so we'll see - main gripe is wind noise from driver's window that (according to dealer) cannot be fixed

Do you really want to be yet another faceless BMW driver? Not many around and they are stunning - bellissimo

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Excellent on smooth roads, but can be a bit unsettling with bumpy roads and slow right down for speed bumps! Seats good & interior has a good quality feel about it.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

    Hopefully won't be tested

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

I wrote to Alfa (twice) about a couple of issues I had and they couldn't be bothered to respond - extremely unimpressed
