List price of car when new with options was £25k. Bought the car at 6 months old with only 4k miles (ex-demo) for £19.5k thinking worst of the depreciation was over. However, I only got £14.5k for the car a year later (£11.5k depreciation in 18 months!!)

    Costs

Alfa rates are expensive, especially labour (£60 per hour plus VAT!!)

    Driving

OK, but low profile tyres and low suspension meant every bump was felt, and sounded VERY loud!

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

Fairly good acceleration but only 40mpg from a diesel - very disappointing.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

The odd electrical problem meant lights occasionally flashed on the dashboard and the electric windows had a mind of their own. But the car always started first time and sounding very smooth for a diesel.

    A real head-turner.

    Comfort

    2 out of 5 2.0

Car is very low to the ground and suspension is not stiff enough - speed bumps and pot holes need to be taken at very low speed!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Tried the alarm a few times and it didn't always go off!

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

Parts took ages to arrive and dealer wanted to charge £40 plus VAT for checking wheel alignment. Labour was also charged at £60 plus VAT - complete rip off!
